Here is the schedule for the 2009 Unversity of Kentucky Wildcats football team. These are my predictions for the season.

Sept. 19, 2009 | Louisville
Sept. 26, 2009 | Florida | ||||
Oct. 3, 2009 | Alabama | ||||
Oct. 10, 2009 | at South Carolina
Oct. 17, 2009 | at Auburn | ||||
Oct. 24, 2009 | La.-Monroe
Oct. 31, 2009 | Miss. State
Nov. 7, 2009 | Eastern Kentucky
Nov. 14, 2009 | at Vanderbilt
Nov. 21, 2009 | at Georgia
Nov. 28, 2009 | Tennessee |
Game 1 is vs Miami-Ohio at Paul Brown Stadium. This should be an easy win for the Wildcats.
Game 2 is against in-state rival, the Louisville Cardinals. Game at home in Commonwealth Stadium. Should be a victory for the Cats.
Game 3 is a home game for the Wildcats vs the defending National Champion Florida Gators team. Chances are UK has not a chance at winning this game and will fall to 2-1 on the year.
Game 4 will be at home vs the Alabama Crimson Tide. Despite being on probation, Alabama will have a pretty good team but UK would have won the meeting between these two teams if it wasn't for a costly interception by the inexperienced QB Mike Hartline that was returned for a TD. I say the Cats will fall 2-2 on the year.
Game 5 will be a road game vs the South Carolina Gamecocks. This will be a toss up I believe. South Carolina had a disappointing season last year and really only lost more guys from the team rather than picking up more talent to rebuild. But it's a road game and when the Cats were the favorite in the game 2 years ago, they were blwon out and also UK blew a huge lead vs South Carolina last year so I will take this as a loss and UK goes down 2-3. It's been decades since UK's last win over numerous SEC opponents, including South Carolina.
Game 6 is on the road at Auburn. Auburn was very disappointing last year and fired their head coach Tommy Tuberville. With a new head coach and transitioning to a new system, I say UK finally picks up what would be a big win over a huge SEC foe that UK hasn't beat in decades. Wildcats go to 3-3 on the year.
Game 7 is at home vs Louisianna-Monroe. This should be a very easy win for the Cats as long as they don't let their guard down. I see the Cats with a 4-3 record now.
Game 8 is vs Mississippi State. With a new coach and UK even beating them last year, this should be a win for Kentucky thought it won't come easy, they will have to earn it. Cats move up to 5-3 on the year.
Game 9 is vs Eastern Kentucky at home. This should be a win. UK defeated them 2 years ago. cats become bowl game eligible with their 6th win of the season as they improve to 6-3 on the season.
Game 10 will be vs Vanderbilt on the road. Should be a win. Vanderbilt will be rebuilding after a good season for Vandy's standards. Vandy stole a win vs the Cats last year and it's a rare occasion when Vanderbilt wins a match up vs any SEC opponent. UK will advance to 7-3 on the year.
Game 11 will be vs Georgia on the road. Probably will be a loss thought Georgia won't be as strong as last year. Over the past 3 years, UK is 1-2 vs the Bulldogs but both losses UK had a lead in those games and it took huge comebacks for Georgia to beat them. Hopefully UK will get a lead and hold onto this time but I see it as another tough road loss. UK falls to 7-4 on the year.
Game 12, the last game of the year will be a home game vs the Volunteers of Tennessee. Well, it's another SEC foe UK hasn't beat in a long time but in the past 3 years, UK is 0-3, blowing leads in the first 2 games and last year when they were favored over the struggling Vols, UK disappoints everyone in a rare chance for the Cats to have beat Tennessee. So, I see this as a loss. UK will finish the season with a 7-5 record and will hope to be in a Bowl Game from a recharged SEC Conference.
