The Cincinnati Reds defeated the San Francisco Giants 10-5 last night. Homer Bailey started the game last night for the Reds pitching 6 innings of 5 earned runs. Tim Lincecum started for the Giants pitching 7 innings giving up 2 earned runs. David Weathers would get the win in relief and the Giants closer, Brian Wilson would receive the loss. In the bottom of the 1st inning, Bengie Molina hit a 2-run home run that also scored Pablo Sandavol. 2-0 San Francisco. In the top of the 4th inning, Wladimir Balentien hit a single that scored Alex Gonzalez. 2-1 Giants. Alex Gonzalez singled and scored Willy Taveras in the top of the 5th to tie the game up at 2-2. In the bottom of the 5th, Eugenio Velez smacks a 2-run home run that also scored pitcher Tim Lincecum and the Giants take a 4-2 lead. In thop top of the 6th inning, Jonny Gomes grounds out at third base and Scott Rolen scores and the Giants are sill leading, now at 4-3. Pablo Sandavol singles and scores Eugenio Velez in the bottom of the 7th inning and the Giants lead is now 5-3. Laynce Nix hits a single in the top of the 8th scoring Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips to tie the game up at 5-5. In the top of the 9th inning, Brandon Phillips walks and Drew Sutton scores. 6-5 Reds. Scott Rolen reaches on a force attempt at 1st base and Alex Gonzalez scores on a catching error by Bengie Molina. 7-5 Reds. Wladimir Balentien reached on a force attempt at 1st base that would score Joey Votto. 8-5 Cincinnati. Giant pitcher Brian Medders throws a wild pitch and Brandon Phillips scores, 9-5 Reds. Laynce Nix would hit a sac fly that scored Scott Rolen and give the Reds a 10-5 lead and that would be the final score. The Reds play today 4:05 PM and pitching for the Reds is Bronson Arroyo (10-10) and for the Giants is Barry Zito (7-10). The game is not on tv, radio broadcast only, but can be seen on MLBTV.
