Last season Brandon Phillips, Arthur Rhodes, and Scott Rolen were named to the All-Star Team, while Joey Votto got in via Final Vote. Today Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, and Jay Bruce were named to the NL All-Star team. All three players will be on the bench to start the game, but they will all probably get playing time in the 82nd All-Star Game.Jay Bruce admitted he was "a little surprised" when he found out he had been named an All-Star.
Brandon Phillips said "it was an honor, especially getting voted in by the players, that right there was very unexpected".
