Jonny Gomes stays in Red

The Cincinnati Reds have re-signed OF, Jonny Gomes on a one year deal, until 2011. 

A few other teams were looking to sign Gomes, such as the Cubs, Mariners, and the Indians.  This will be Jonny's second year with the Reds, last year he hit .267 and in 93 games, had an on-base percentage of .338.  Gomes also  smacked 20 home runs in just 281 at-bats.

"I'm really excited to be a Red....they are a well put-together team this year"  Said Gomes after it was announced that he accepted the deal with Cincinnati. 

Gomes is very likely to play in left field, or possibly center.
