The Xavier Musketeers (20-7, 11-2) were visiting the Saint Louis Billikens (18-9, 9-4). Xavier was looking to extend a three game winning streak to four. Xavier was able to do so, in a great game with the final score, 73-71.
Jason Love had 21 points in the Musketeers' W, he was also 9-of-17 from the field, and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. Love was also one board shy of the double-double, he had 9.
Even though Love looked great, it was Jordan Crawford who led all scorers with 26 points. Crawford was 11-of-20 from the field.
For SLU, Kwamain Mitchell led with 21 points and was 8-of-15 from the field.
In the first half, St. Louis had as much as a seven point lead, but both the Billikens and the Muskies played hard and St. Louis only had a two point lead at the half.
In the second half, St. Louis had as much as a six point lead, but that was too easy for XU to overcome, and with 7:33 to go, the X-men had a 13 point lead. SLU fought hard until the final buzzer, and with only 1:01 to go, the game belong to anybody, it was a two point lead for X. After Jason Love did some work, with two good free trows, with only five seconds to go, Xavier was able to hold on to their lead and win in a great one, 73-71.
