The #11/#10 Ohio State Buckeyes were on the road vs. the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Minnesota was 1-8, 0-4 in the Big Ten, while Ohio State was 7-1, and 3-1 in the Big Ten. According to ESPN.com, of the people that voted, the Buckeyes were favored 99.5% to win. That 99.5% was right, as the Bucks did more than win, they dominated. 52-10 the final, as the Buckeyes scored on all 3 sides of the ball, and 7 different Buckeyes score a touchdown. Here is how all of the action took place.
Ohio State got the ball first, and they got a touchdown thanks to Terrelle Pryor with a 1 yard touchdown run/dive on 3rd and goal. 7-0 OSU.
The Gophers would answer back on their first drive when DeLeon Eskridge ran it in from 7 yards out, tied at 7.
Then, once again, the Bucks would score on their next drive as Brandon Saine caught Terrelle Pryor's pass for a 3 yard touchdown, 14-7, and the Men Of The Scarlet And Gray were on top, that would be the score at the end of the 1st quarter.
In the 2nd quarter, Ohio State got a field goal with 08:24 to go, a 23 yarder by Barclay, 17-7 the score. Then, 7 minutes later, Dan Herron ran for a 10 yard score, Boom goes the Herron, 24-7 the score. With only 24 seconds to go before the half, Terrelle Pryor connected with DeVier Posey for a 38 yard touchdown score, 31-7 the score at the half.
Minnesota would score first in the second half, but they only got a field goal. It was Ellestad with a 33 yard kick, 31-10.
The 11 Warriors, which are Brave And Bold ya' know, would do more than answer back. On a punt (with 04:10 to go in the 3rd quarter) the snap was bad, the punt was blocked and my step mom's former co-worker's boyfriend, Zach Domicone dived on the ball in the endzone for a touchdown. Last year, Domicone recovered a dropped punt against the Gophers, just though some people would find that interesting. Anyways, 38-10 was the score going into the 4th.
The Buckeyes would scored twice in the 4th quarter, the first score was a 16 yard touchdown run by sophomore, Jordan Hall, 45-10 the score. Then, on a fumble by Weber, John Simon pick up the ball and took it back to the house for a 30 yard fumble recovery score, 52-10 the score and the final.
Ohio State is now 8-1, Minnesota is now 1-8. OSU should move up in the polls, as Missouri andMichigan State both fall, and were undefeated.
The Buckeyes starts shined today, as Pryor went 18/22, good for 222 yards, 2 TD, and 1 pick. Dan "Boom" Herron had 17 carries, and 114 rushing yards and 1 TD. DeVier Posey had 6 receptions, 115 yards, and 1 TD.
Next, Ohio State will have a BYE week, then they will resume play at the Horseshoe on Saturday, November 13th, against Penn State. The time of the game is TBA and is also TBA for TV. As soon as we find out, we will be sure to tell ya.
