The Reds spoil Joey Votto's return to the team as they are defeated by the Blue Jays 7-5. Brian Tallet (5-4) was the winner going 6.0 innings and giving up zero earned runs. Micah Owings (4-8) gets the loss and he went 5.2 innings giving up 6 earned runs. Jason Frasor got the save tonight. It was his 2nd save of the year. Joey Votto went 1 for 4 tonight with a single in the 4th inning. In the bottom of the 2nd, Scott Rolen hit a solo home run. 1-0 Toronto. Jerry Hairston jr. would make a throwing error at SS to allow Alex Rios to score in the 2nd inning. 2-0 Blue Jays. Adam Lind singled in the 3rd inning scoring Aaron Hill to make it 3-0 Toronto. Rod Barajas hit a solo home in the 4th to make it 4-0 Blue Jays. In the 6th, Marcos Scutaro hit a 2-run blast scoring Rod Barajas to make it 6-0 Toronto. Jay Brice hit a double in the 7th inning that scored Brandon Phillips and Jonny Gomes. 6-2 Toronto. Adam Rosales hit a sac fly that scored Ramon Hernandez. 6-3 Blue Jays. Chris Dickerson also hit a sacrafice fly that scored Jay Bruce. 6-4 Toronto. That would close out a 4-run 7th inning for the Reds. In the bottom of the 7th, Adam Lind would single for the Blue Jays and Vernon Wells touched home on that single. 7-4 Blue Jays. In the bottom of the 8th, Brandon Phillips grounded out to Lyle Overbay at 1st base and Jerry Hairston Jr. would score. That would be the final score of tonight's game.
