Reds Transactions At The MLB Trade Deadline

By: Jeremy Mays
Lets recap the Reds transactions made this summer before the MLB Trade Deadline. On July 9th, the Reds signed free agent pitcher Kip Wells to a minor league contract and assign him to AAA Louisville. On July 29th, the Reds traded Pitcher Robert Manuel to the Seattle Mariners for Left Fielder Wladimir Balentien. On July 31st the Reds traded 3B Edwin Encarnacion; Pitchers Josh Roenicke and Zachary Stewart to the Toronto Blue Jays for 3B Scott Rolen. The Reds also on that day traded 3B Jerry Hairston to the New York Yankees for Charleston RiverDogs catcher Chase Weems. The Reds also called up Pitchers Kip Well and Justin Lehr on the 31st of July.

Colorado Wins Game 1 vs Cincinnati

By: Jeremy Mays
Colorado is victorious in Game 1 vs the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 tonight. Franklin Morales picks up the win 0.1 innings pitched and 0 earned runs. David Weathers gets the loss after giving up 2 solo home runs in the 8th inning. Huston Street got the save for the Rockies. This was Justin Lehr's Reds debut as well as Wladimir Balentien. In the top of the 1st, Brad Hawpe grounds into a force out at 1B and scores Seth Smith. 1-0 Colorado. Troy Tulowitzki doubled and scored Clint Barmes. 2-0 Rockies lead. Alex Gonzalez hit a sac fly that scored Brandon Phillips. 2-1 Rockies lead. Chris Ianetta hits a sac fly and scores Brad Hawpe. 3-1 Rockies. In the bottom of the 6th inning, Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips each hit solo home rune back-to-back to tie the game at 3-3. In the top of the 8th inning, Chris Ianetta and Carlos Gonzalez hit back-to-back solo home runs to give the Rockies a 5-3 win. The Reds play tomorrow at 7:10 PM on FSN-Ohio. Home Bailey 2-2 will pitch for the Reds and the Rockies are sending out Ubaldo Jimenez 7-9. Scott Rolen will also make his Reds debut tomorrow.

Kentucky Wildcats Football Season Preview

By: Jeremy Mays
Here is the schedule for the 2009 Unversity of Kentucky Wildcats football team. These are my predictions for the season.

Sept. 5, 2009at Miami-OH

Sept. 19, 2009Louisville

Sept. 26, 2009Florida

Oct. 3, 2009Alabama

Oct. 10, 2009at South Carolina

Oct. 17, 2009at Auburn

Oct. 24, 2009La.-Monroe

Oct. 31, 2009Miss. State

Nov. 7, 2009Eastern Kentucky

Nov. 14, 2009at Vanderbilt

Nov. 21, 2009at Georgia

Nov. 28, 2009Tennessee

Game 1 is vs Miami-Ohio at Paul Brown Stadium. This should be an easy win for the Wildcats.

Game 2 is against in-state rival, the Louisville Cardinals. Game at home in Commonwealth Stadium. Should be a victory for the Cats.

Game 3 is a home game for the Wildcats vs the defending National Champion Florida Gators team. Chances are UK has not a chance at winning this game and will fall to 2-1 on the year.

Game 4 will be at home vs the Alabama Crimson Tide. Despite being on probation, Alabama will have a pretty good team but UK would have won the meeting between these two teams if it wasn't for a costly interception by the inexperienced QB Mike Hartline that was returned for a TD. I say the Cats will fall 2-2 on the year.

Game 5 will be a road game vs the South Carolina Gamecocks. This will be a toss up I believe. South Carolina had a disappointing season last year and really only lost more guys from the team rather than picking up more talent to rebuild. But it's a road game and when the Cats were the favorite in the game 2 years ago, they were blwon out and also UK blew a huge lead vs South Carolina last year so I will take this as a loss and UK goes down 2-3. It's been decades since UK's last win over numerous SEC opponents, including South Carolina.

Game 6 is on the road at Auburn. Auburn was very disappointing last year and fired their head coach Tommy Tuberville. With a new head coach and transitioning to a new system, I say UK finally picks up what would be a big win over a huge SEC foe that UK hasn't beat in decades. Wildcats go to 3-3 on the year.

Game 7 is at home vs Louisianna-Monroe. This should be a very easy win for the Cats as long as they don't let their guard down. I see the Cats with a 4-3 record now.

Game 8 is vs Mississippi State. With a new coach and UK even beating them last year, this should be a win for Kentucky thought it won't come easy, they will have to earn it. Cats move up to 5-3 on the year.

Game 9 is vs Eastern Kentucky at home. This should be a win. UK defeated them 2 years ago. cats become bowl game eligible with their 6th win of the season as they improve to 6-3 on the season.

Game 10 will be vs Vanderbilt on the road. Should be a win. Vanderbilt will be rebuilding after a good season for Vandy's standards. Vandy stole a win vs the Cats last year and it's a rare occasion when Vanderbilt wins a match up vs any SEC opponent. UK will advance to 7-3 on the year.

Game 11 will be vs Georgia on the road. Probably will be a loss thought Georgia won't be as strong as last year. Over the past 3 years, UK is 1-2 vs the Bulldogs but both losses UK had a lead in those games and it took huge comebacks for Georgia to beat them. Hopefully UK will get a lead and hold onto this time but I see it as another tough road loss. UK falls to 7-4 on the year.

Game 12, the last game of the year will be a home game vs the Volunteers of Tennessee. Well, it's another SEC foe UK hasn't beat in a long time but in the past 3 years, UK is 0-3, blowing leads in the first 2 games and last year when they were favored over the struggling Vols, UK disappoints everyone in a rare chance for the Cats to have beat Tennessee. So, I see this as a loss. UK will finish the season with a 7-5 record and will hope to be in a Bowl Game from a recharged SEC Conference.

Reds cannot win series as they fall to the Padres in game 3.

By: Cooper Ledford
The Reds will hope to get a split as they lost to the San Diego Padres Wednesday. Here is how the game went. In the top of the 1st Adrian Gonzalez hit a 2-run home run to make it 2-0 SD. Same inning Kylr Blanks hit a 3-run home run to give San Diego a good 5-0 lead. In the bottom of the 4th the Reds got their first hit of the game off of a Jerry Hairston Jr. solo home run to make it 5-1 SD on top. Then in the bottom of the 8th the Padres got an RBI single and I wild pitch from Josh Roenicke made it 7-1 and that would be the final as Aaron Harang loses....again.

Padres Take Game 2 vs Reds

The San Diego Padres defeated the Reds 3-2 tonight. Kevin Correia got the win in 6 innings and giving up 2 earned runs. Bronson Arroyo got the loss in 6.1 innings giving up 3 earned runs. In the top of the 1st, Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a double scoring Tony Gwynn Jr. 1-0 SD. Jonny Gomes hit a single that scored Edwin Encarnacion. Tied 1-1. Craig Tatum got his first hit and scored Laynce Nix. 2-1 Reds. Adrian Gonzalez tied the game up with a homer at 2-2 in the top of the 3rd. In the 7th, Kevin kouzmanoff hit a sac fly that scored Tony Gwynn Jr. 3-2 Padres win. For game 3, Aaron Harang (5-11) will be pitching for the Reds and for the Padres Mat Latos (1-1). Reds Snap Losing Streak With Win

By: Jeremy Mays
The Cincinnati Reds get a much needed win 6-4 over the San Diego Padres to break a 6 game losing streak that lasted a week. Joey Votto would be ejected in the 1st inning after arguing an at bat in which he struck out. In the top of the 1st inning, Brandon Phillips blasted a 3-run home run to give the Reds a 3-0 lead that also scored Willy Taveras and Alex Gonzalez. Jonny Gomes hit a solo blast in the bottom of the 2nd to give the Reds a 4-0 lead. Edwin Encarnacion hit a monster home run into the second deck in left field to give the Reds a 5-0 lead. In the top of the 5th inning, Luis Rodriguez singled and scores Kyle Blanks. 5-1 Reds lead. In the top of the 6th inning, Everth Cabrera and Adrian Gonzalez both hit solo home runs and the Reds would still be leading 5-3. Jonny Gomes would hit another solo home run to give the Reds a 6-3 lead. In the tiop of the 9th inning, Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a solo home run and the Reds would lead 6-4 and that would be the final score. Tune in tomorrow at 7:10 PM on FSN-Ohio for Game 2. Kevin Correia (6-8) will be on the mound for the Padres and going for the Reds is Bronson Arroyo (10-9).

Roster Changes For The Reds

By: Jeremy Mays
The Reds place Chris Dickerson and Micah Owings both on the 15-day DL for right shoulder problems and they recall Drew Sutton and Robert Manuel from AAA Louisville. The Reds may be close to a deal for Toronto Blue Jays 3B Scott Rolen. It's umored that the Reds may have to give up Edwin Encarnacion and Aaron Harang or Bronson Arroyo to get a deal done. Rolen declined to speak with the media after the game yesterday in which was one of the best performances of the year for him.

Reds-Padres Series Preview

By: Jeremy Mays
The Reds are at home this week to take on a 4-game series vs the San Diego Padres. In Game 1, Homer Bailey (1-2) will face off against Josh Geer (1-6). Game 2 will be a showdown between Kevin Correia (6-8) and the starter for the Reds is TBA. Aaron Harang (5-11) will be on the mound for the Reds and going for the Padres is Mat Latos (1-1 ). The series finale will have Johnny Cueto (8-7) and Tim Stauffer (0-2). Games 1-3 will be on FSN-Ohio at 7:10 PM and Game 4 is at 12:35 and is a radio broadcast only.

Pete Rose into Hall of Fame?

By: Cooper Ledford

If you have been watching Sports Center at all in the last few hours you probably know that Pete Rose now has a chance at going to Cooperstown. MLB commissioner Bud Selig is said to be seriously mulling a pardon for Pete Rose. Rose was not allowed to go to the Hall of fame and was banned from Major League baseball 20 years ago in 1989. Many hall of famers told ESPN their thoughts on Pete Rose. Hank Aaron, in similar words, says that he came clean and told the world that he bet on baseball and the bets had nothing to do with his numbers on the field. Aaron also told ESPN that Rose should be allowed to the hall of fame along with stariod users. The commissioner Bud Selig also says that Pete Rose may be reinstated into baseball and in the hall of fame, but probably not any time soon, also that Rose will not be allowed to manage a team and will have to appologize for betting on baseball like he has before.

Three Wildcats named to Media Preseason All-SEC team.

By: Cooper Ledford SWO Sports founder and CEO
Three Kentucky Wildcats football stars have been named to the Media Preseason All-SEC team. One player was cornerback Trevard Lindley. Lindley was a second-team All-American last season and a consensus first-team All-SEC choice. He had four interceptions and 11 pass breakups, leading the SEC in pass breakups per game. He holds the UK career record for pass breakups with 34. Lindley also was a first-team preseason All-SEC pick by the league coaches.
One of the other two was Linebacker Micah Johnson. Johnson was a first-team Coaches' All-SEC pick in 2008. He totaled 93 tackles last season, despite missing two and one-half games because of injury, and ranked third in the league in tackles per game. He also rated sixth in the SEC in tackles for loss with 13. He was named to the preseason second team by the league coaches.
Last but not least offensive tackle Zipp Duncan was named to the team. Duncan was a key part of the UK offensive line that ranked fourth in the nation last season in fewest quarterback sacks allowed and 11th in fewest tackles for loss allowed. After starting every game the last two seasons at offensive guard, he will shift to left tackle for the 2009 season. Duncan was a preseason third-team selection by the league coaches.

No. 1 recruit Seantrel Henderson to go to OSU?

Offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson (6-8, 335) told ESPN affiliate Web site GatorCountry.com, "Florida, USC and Ohio State... its going to be one of those three. They play for championships and they put a lot of people in the NFL.""Distance doesn't matter," he continued. "It's about where I feel best about the school, the people in the program, the guys who are going to be my teammates and the coaches. If that's at a place like USC or Florida, that's fine with me. I'm going where I feel like I'm home. I'll know if it's the right place after I do my visits."However, Henderson added, "It's not that I've closed the door on anyone. I'm still open but I've got some things that are important to me. It's going to be a tough choice but I'm going to make the right one whatever that is."His father, Sean Henderson, previously informed affiliate Web site Bucknuts.com that Ohio State, Florida, USC and Oklahoma would be receiving official visits from his son and that Minnesota, Florida State, Notre Dame and Michigan were still in the mix. recute

BEARCATS: 2009 SCHEDULE

By: Cooper Ledford

Game 1: In the first game of the Cincinnat Bearcats season they will play the Big East rivals, Rutgers. I think Cincinnati should be able to win this game easily, they could last year and I don't expect the Bearcats to have got any worse, only better.

Game 2: Game 2 will be the Bearcat's first home game of the season where they will play Southeast Missouri State. I don't know much about this team, but I can make a guess that they are not as good as the Bearcats, therefor I say Bearcats will win this game easily.

Game 3: In the 3rd game of the season the Bearcats will be takinng on Oregon State. This would be a tough game for Cincinnati to win, OSU is a great team, so good they are the only team that beat USC last year. I think that if the Bearcats want to win this game they will have to play hard and work together as a team and focus on each play.

Gmae 4: Game 4 will be vs. Fresno State. I think Cincinnati can win this game, my reasoning for this is because Fresno State plays a lot like the University of Hawai'i, and last year Cincinnati beat the Warriors, so I think the Bearcats should win this game.

Game 5: In the 5th game of the season UC will take on the neighboring team of Miami (OH) This game will be the battle for the Victory Bell. I think Cincinnati can win this game, just because Miami is just not that great of a football school, that's all I really need to say.

Game 6: Game 6 will be a Big East match-up between South Florida at Nippert Stadium. This will be a tough game to win for both teams. Both teams know how good each other can play football. If you recall this is the game that was played on Halloween last year and Marty Gillyard ran into a kid in the stands, the kid was OK and UC won, so I cannot pick a winner, but it will be a good game.

Game 7: Game 7 will be homecoming where UC will battle against Louisville. Louisville does have a pretty good football team, I think this game will be similar to the USF and UC game, hard to pick a winner, but shall be a good game indeed.

Game 8: Syracuse will host the Bearcats in New York in game 8. I think UC can win this game just because the Orange did not do good last season and probably won't this season either, I say easy win for UC.

Game 9: Game 9 is the blackout game vs UCONN. I think this game will be similar to the Syracuse game, an easy win for UC, that's all I need to say.

Game 10: Game 10 will be the Ring of Red game vs. West Virgina. This will be an extreamly hard game to win if you are UC. UC will need to play good football if they want to win this game, WVU is a great football school and it will be a hard game for UC.

Game 11: In the 11th game of the season UC will play the Big Ten team of Illinois. Illinois is a pretty good team, it will be a good game to watch. Both teams are pretty equal, although UC could not make it in the Big Ten that does not mean they cannot beat a Big Ten team, this will probably be a close game.

Game 12: The final game of the regular season will be against the Bearcats' arch rivals, the Pittsburgh Panthers. I think UC can win this game just like last year, but still should be a good game to watch.

In the bottom of the 3rd Johnny Gomes hit an RBI single to score Joey Votto to make it 3-3. Then the Reds would get more runs in the bottom of the 8th when Johnny Gomes hit a 2-run home run to make it 5-3, that would be the final. 2009 Ohio State football schedule.

By: Cooper Ledford SWO SPORTS FOUNDER AND CEO

The 2009 Ohio State Buckeye have a great schedule this season, not too easy and not too hard. Now I am going to give my thoughts on all of the games of the 2009 OSU football season.

Game 1: Game 1 is a match up between two good teams, Ohio State vs. Navy. Buckeye fans, don't automatically think it is an easy win for the men in the scarlet and gray, the Navy does well against many other good teams such as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Buckeyes can win this game if they focus on each play, not each drive or the game next Saturday vs. Southern California. If the Buckeyes focus on each play, both sides of the ball, Ohio State should get a win on the board.

Game 2: The Buckeyes will face the always tough University of Southern California Trojans. Last year the Buckeyes did horrible against the Trojans, but this year with Pryor, the Buckeyes will have a better QB, however with Laurinaitis and a lot of the Defense leaving, it will be hard to stop the great offense of USC. Also with Beanie Wells now in the NFL, the Buckeyes will not have as great of a running back, we'll see what BOOM can do though. So if the Buckeyes can play the best game ever, they have a chance to get a HUGE win.

Game 3: Game 3 is at the Browns stadium in Cleveland, Ohio will be a match up between two teams that beat Michigan last year, Toledo and Ohio State. Ohio State should be able to win, with the great athletic skills of Pryor and BOOM the Buckeyes should come up with a great victory.

Game 4: Game 4 is at Ohio Stadium as it is the Buckeyes first Big Ten game of the season, it will be against the always competitive rivals, Illinois Fighting Illini. Last year in the second to last game of the season Ohio State got a close victory 30-20, the previous year the Fighting Illini got a 7 point victory, the Buckeyes will need to play with an attitude in this game just like they did last year, if not Illinois may come up with an upset.

Game 5: Game 5 should be an easy win as the Buckeyes will try to beat the mediocre Indian Hosiers. Ohio State always does good vs. Indiana and I don't expect this game to be any different, Ohio State should go into Bloomington and get a win.

Game 6: Game 6 will probably be another nail-biter just like last year, when Ohio State battled against the Badgers of Wisconsin. This year with most of the great defensive players gone, OSU will need to stop big plays and the offense will need to be smart and not have any turn overs, if both of those things come into play, Ohio State can manage to get a victory over the Badgers. Go Buckeyes!!!!

Game 7: Game 7 is against Purdue, seems like an easy win for the Buckeyes, but last year no touchdowns were scored by either team, so this year Ohio State will try to score touchdowns and get another victory against the Boilmakers. Hopefully this game will not be a boring one to watch.

Game 8: Game 8 will be the homecoming game vs the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Last year Ohio State got an easy win I don't expect this one to be any different, the Gophers are not that great of a team and OSU should be able to easily beat this team.

Game 9: Game 9 is a match up between a Big Team and a WAC team. The Bucks will take on the New Mexico State Aggies. I do not know much about the Aggies, but I do think OSU should be able to get a good win over them. However I think this will be an entertaining game to watch.

Game 10: This game will be another great Big Ten game, it'll be the Ohio State Buckeyes vs. the Penn State Nitany Lions. Last year Penn State beat Ohio State in a very, very close and scary game, it was when Pryor fumbled the ball that gave Penn State a sealed win, that play still haunts many Buckeye fans like me. This yeah Pryor will be better and will be smarter, in an interview Pryor said "I am gonna try to get the ball into the receivers hands more this season, and not use my legs as much." If Pryor can pass better and get it to an open receivers hands, Ohio State has a good chance to win the game. Also the Defense will have to help out the OSU offense by holding Penn State to minimum yardage and prevent big plays.

Game 11: Game 11 is when the Iowa Hawkeyes will challenge the Buckeyes of Ohio State. This will not be an easy win for OSU, infact Iowa is the only team that beat PSU in the regular season, and the only Big Ten team to win a bowl game. The Buckeyes will have to play good on both sides of the ball to get this win, it should be a great game.

Game 12, aka THE GAME: The Buckeyes will go to that state up North and play in the biggest rivalry in any sport, THE GAME (michigan vs. Ohio State) . The Buckeyes have won 5 strait vs. the miaze and blue. Michigan will try to get a win and be the happiest team in the United States, but the Buckeyes should be able to hold them off. Last year the Buckeyes beat them 42-7 and showed no mercy, if the Buckeyes played as good as they did last seasin/year the Buckeyes should get even more Gold Pants.

Reds lose last game of the 1st half.

By: Cooper Ledford
The Cincinnati Reds were trying to go into the All-Star break on a positive note, unfortunately for the Reds they fell short of a W on the board. The Reds had Aaron Harang on the mound vs. the Dayton native Mike Pelfrey. The final score is 9-7 Mets win. Here is how all of the runs were scored. In the first inning David Wright hit an RBI double to send Luis Castillo across the plate to make it 1-0 New York on top. In the bottom of the third after giving back-to-back singles Aaron Harang faced Gary Sheffield whom hit a 2 run RBI to make it 3-0 Mets on top. Laater in the inning Daniel Murphy hit a 2 bagger to make it 5-0 Mets. Later in the game was 7-0 Mets when Pelfrey started to struggle a bit. The Reds finaly put to gether a 3 run inning to make it a 4 run ball game, The Redlegs hade a late rally that did not give them a lead, and the final once again 9-7 Mets.

Reds fall under .500

By: Cooper Ledford
The Cincinnati Reds had Homer Bailey on the mound vs. Rodrigo Lopez. In the top of the 4th inning bases were loaded with no outs and batting was Laynce Nix, Nix hit a single to score Hairston to make it 1-0 Reds were on top. Then in the same inning Ramon Hernandez hit a sac fly to score Votto from 3rd to make it 2-0 Cincinnati. The Phillies would get right back in the game in the bottom of the 4th when Ryan Howard hit an RBI to score Victorino to make it 2-1 Reds were still winning. Then in the bottom of the 6th Homer Bailey gave up a solo home run to make it a tie game at 2. Not much happening until the 9th inning when Dusty Baker made a pretty bad decision on my opinion when he kept David Weathers in insted of bringing in Francisco Cordero. There was a runner on 1st and second, 2 outs, and the batter was Victorino. Victorino hit it to shallow left-field to score the runner from 3rd and give the Phillies a walk off win. The final 3-2 Phillies beat the Cincinnati Reds. Homer Bailey did have a great night, threw over 90 pitches, allowed 2 ER, no walks, gave up 7 hits, and struck out a career high 6 batters. How ever the Reds still lost as they failed on offense late in the game. The winner is Madson and the loser is David Weathers. Tomorrow the Reds will try to tie the series at 2 as Micah Owings will try to get the win. The game is at 7:05 televised on FSN Ohio, and on the radio on the big one, 700 WLW.

Reds rebound from getting murdered!

By: Coop Ledford
The Reds were trying to rebound from last nights huge loss 22-1. In the bottom of the 2nd Aaron Harang gave up back to back homeruns by Ryan Howard and Jason Werth to make it 2-0 Phillies on top. Then later, in the bottom of the third Chase Utley hit an RBI to make it 3-0 Phillies. Brandon Phillips would make it interseting with a 2 run home run so it was a 1 run ball game. Brandon Phillips was not done with the long ball, he hit his second homerun of the night to tie it up at 3. The Reds and Phillies had a 3-3 tie going into the 9th. The Reds wanted this win, and so did Ramon Hernandez, he hit an RBI to score Joey Votto from 3rd to make it 4-3 CINCINNATI! That would be the final score and David Weathers gets the win. Also Francisco Cordero got his 21st save of the season.

Okay, so this is my brother's blog. He agreed to let me write an article here, probably just because I'm a writer.

So, here's the thing I'm not one to use all those fancy baseball words, so this article is mainly for people, like myself, who've no clue what an ERA or a BB is--or don't care enough to learn.

So that's how I'm going to re-cap this baseball game.

Balls were hit, balls were caught in leather, people fell, people were stupid. We lost. 22 goals were scored by the opposing team--we only had 1 goal. But hey, when life gives you lemons, give them back and demand tea...because it's better!

So, with that game in perfect re-cap, Jeremy please don't kill me. :D

If you'd like to read my blog (which is actually pretty good because I know what I'm talking about--writing) you can go to http://www.wonderfulwritingwebsite.blogspot.com/

Have a wonderful and blessed day!

Reds over .500 from win in extras!

By: Cooper Ledford
The Reds were in game 3 of the series vs. Arizona trying to be a game over .500. Here is how the Reds and Diamondbacks kept a close game. In the top of the 2nd Chad Tracy singled scoring Parra to make it 1-0 Arizona. In the Cincinnati 4th the Reds would answer back when Chris Dickerson singled to score Johnny Gomes to make it tied a 1 run a piece. Soon the D'backs would get their lead right back in the top of the 6th on a home run by Mark Reynolds to make it 2-1 Arizona on top. In the bottom of the 9th the Reds were trying to stay alive and they would when Drew Sutton tied the game with an RBI to score Jerry Hairston Jr. game tied a 2. The game would go into extras, in the top of the 10th, no runs scored. In the bottom of the 10th Zavada came to pitch for Arizona, with two outs here came Joey Votto. Votto hit it into left-field to score Chris Dickerson to give the Reds a walk-off victory! The final score is 3-2 Cincinnati as the Reds go to 1 game over .500.

REDS WIN AND GO TO .500!

By: Cooper Ledford
The game I went to vs. the D'backs the Reds won! Here's how the Redlegs did it. Johnny Cueto was on the hill for Cincinnati trying to pick up his 8th win of the season, Johnny pitched 6 innings giving up 0ER and only 1 hit, which was an infield hit that deflected off of him, walked 4, but did manage to strike out many. The games lone run came in the Cincinnati 6th when Joey Votto hit an RBI single to left-center to score Chris Dickerson from 2nd to make it 1-0, and that would end up to be the final score. However in the Arizona 7th there was a scary moment when Arthur Rhodes had the bases loaded and 2 outs with the batter being Felipe Lopez. It was 3-2, a walk would be a run, an out would be great, a hit would be a disaster. The pitch was a pop-up to Jay Bruce in right-field to end the inning, and the Reds would get out of trouble and not allow a run to score. In the top of the 8th David Weathers gave the Reds a 1-2-3 inning, and so did Fransico Cordero in the top of the 9th to pick up his 19th save of the season and more importantly seal the Reds 1-0 win over Arizona to make them (Cincinnati) a .500 team.
