Reds Hold On To Complete Sweep

Reds starter Travis Wood gave up two runs over six innings.

the Cardinals, Sunday.

In front of 24,672 rain-drenched fans, the Reds were trying to complete the sweep of their foes, the St. Louis Cardinals.  Well, they got it, but barley, 9-7 the final, here is how.


Travis Wood gets the win, as he went 6 innings, giving up 2 runs, which were two home runs, on 7 hits, walked one and fanned 3.  T-Wood is now 3-3 on the year.

Francisco Cordero picked up his 7th save of the season.


Another point of interest in this game was the Reds debut of Jose Arredondo.  Jose pitched in the 7th inning, and had a 1-2-3, 12 pitch inning.  Looked good.  


Tomorrow the Reds will play host to another enemy of theirs, the Chicago Cubs.  This will be the 1st of 2 games.  Homer Bailey (2-0, 0.69 ERA) will take the hill for Cincinnati while Carlos Zambrano (4-1, 5.35 ERA) will pitch for the North-Siders. Game time is set for 7:10 PM ET, and will be televised on Fox Sports Ohio.
