The Kentucky Wildcats defeated John Calipari's alma mater tonight with a 117-52 win. John Wall made his much anticipated debut with 27 points (15 1st half). DeMarcus Cousins added 20 points himself and had a huge start to the game. Daniel Orton left the game early due to chest pains from taking an elbow to the chest and is listed as day-to-day. Eric Bledsoe sat out the entire game with an ankle sprain. DeAndre Liggins also did not play for two consecutive games now. One might speculate that Liggins seeing no action was a coaches decision because he wasn't practicing hard enough. Kentucky held Clarion to just a 23.8% field goal percentage. It was a total team effort tonight and all players showed great potential and looked great offensively.
1st Half 58-22 UK
2nd Half 59-30 UK
Final 117-52 UK
Kentucky plays Morehead State next Friday in the season opener. John Wall will be suspended for that game and that will be the end of his suspension. Wall will face no more punishment from the NCAA for excepting benefits for trips he took for his recruiting visits from his AAU Coach Brian Clifton.
