The Cincinnati Bengals (9-4) were trying to clinch the AFC North title with a win, however they were at the 10-2 Minnesota Vikings. The Bengals were unable to win the game, and since Baltimore beat the Lions (shocker, right) they do not clinch the division yet. Brett Favre and the Vikes beat the Bengals, 30-10. Here is how.
After a scoreless 1st quarter the Vikes started the scoring when Ryan Longwell kicked a 41yard field goal to give Minnesota a 3-0 lead. The Vikes would add on to their lead when Favre connected with Sidney Rice, 9 yards out and Minnesota had a 10-0 lead with 08:45 to go before the half. Cincinnati would answer back when Carson Palmer got it to Chad Ochocinco on a fake reverse route, wide open for 6. Shayne Graham's kick was good, Vikes lead 10-7 with under 4 minutes to go. Later on in the 2nd quarter, Longwell kicked two field goals, one for 23 yards, and one for 44 yards, Minnesota had a nice 16-7 lead at the half.
The Vikings would continue playing well in the 2nd half, to start things off, Adrian Peterson ran it in from 1 yard out, it was 23-7. The Nati would get a field goal early in the 4th quarter, the score was a little closer, still would be hard to catch up, it was 23-10. The Vikings would seal their win when AP ran for another touchdown, the score was 30-10, and that was the final.
Adrian Peterson had a great day, 97 yards on on 26 carries and 2 TD's. Favre had a good day, 17/30, 192 yards, 1 TD, but 1 pick.
Cincinnati did not do well on offence, only 96 yards for Benson. Palmer was 15/25, 94 yards, and 1 TD.
