The University of Kentucky Wildcats reached a milestone in all of college basketball, the first program to get to 2,000 wins. Kentucky got W2K over Drexel Monday, December 21, 2009. The score was 88-44, a huge blow out win for UK.
DeMarcus Cousins and Patrick Patterson lead the Cats with 18 points, followed by the WALL, John Wall, who had 16 points. Kentucky grabbed a 9-0 lead to start the game out and never looked back. At halftime, the score was 20-56, UK fans could smell 2,000 wins early. UK is the leader in all-time wins, with of course 2,000, North Carolina follows with 1,992.
Coach Calipari said "We weren't a part of many of those 2,000 wins and we had a job to do and that was drag us across the line before that other blue team got there," "This is a special moment for this program and this state."
Next the Wildcats will host Long Beach State on Wednesday at 1:00 PM ET. The game will be on FSN South.
