Turner and Bucks to Big Ten Finals

By:  Cooper Ledford

The Ohio State Buckeyes (26-7, 14-4) were playing the Illinois Fighting Illini (19-14, 10-8), Saturday in the Big Ten simifinals.  The winner would advance into the Big Ten Championship Game.  Ohio State ended up winning in a great double-overtime game, 88-81.

Evan Turner was the Bucks best player of the game, getting 31 points, 10 rebounds, but he did have 10 turnovers.  Turner also scored 12 of his points in overtime periods, a big reason why the Buckeyes beat Illinois.

The Illini were lead by was led by Demetri McCamey with 22 points and Mike Davis with 13 points and 18 rebounds. The Illini had two chances to win at the buzzer but failed to get off shots both times.

That gave Turner a chance to dominate the second overtime. After Jon Diebler hit a 3, Turner's back-to-back layups put the Buckeyes up 82-77 with 3:03 to play. Illinois never got another chance to tie the score.

Next, Ohio State will play the winner of the Purdue vs. Minnesota game.  The game will be on either CBS or an ESPN station.
