The Xavier Musketeers (9-5, 1-0 A-10) were hosting the Massachusetts Minutemen (9-5, 1-0 A-10). Xavier was looking to go 5 games over .500, as was UMASS. Xavier would succeed as they absolutly destroyed the Minutemen 79-50.
There was not too much to it, the game was tied at 14 and it looked like it was going to be a close game for a while, but the Muskies went on a 21-4 run, and at the half they lead 35-18.
In the 2nd half, as you can imagine, Xavier never looked back. XU outscored Massachusetts 44-32 in the 2nd half, and went on to win 79-50, as I said in paragraph 1.
Tu Holloway lead the way with 19 points for the X-Men, after him was Kenny Frease with 16, then Mark Lyons with 15. Jackson and McLean also hit double-digits as Jackson had 11 and McLean had 10. McLean lead the way in boards with 10.
Only one player for UMASS hit double-digits, Anthony Gurley, who had 12 points.
XU improves to 10-5 and 2-0 in the A-10, and has won 33 strait A-10 home games, just 1 more and they tie the record.
Next, the Musketeers of Xavier will host the Dayton Flyers, in the A-10's biggest rivalry. That game will be on Saturday at 8:00 PM ET and will be on CBS College Sports.
