The Kentucky Wildcats, who went 6-6 on the year, were in Birmingham, Alabama, taking on the Big East tri-champs, Pittsburgh Panthers. Pitt won the BBVA Compass Bowl, 27-10, here is how.
Kentucky scored first, as McIntosh nailed a 50 yard field goal, 3-0 UK on top. That would be the score after 15 minutes.
Pitt would answer back with two field goals, and a touchdown, which was a QB sneak for a 1 yard score, after all of that, the score was 13-3, and that was the score at the half.
In the 3rd quarter, Pitt scored a touchdown, as Sunseri connected with DeCicco for a 13 yard touchdown, 20-3 the score.
The Wildcats would answer back with a Moncell Allen 1 yard touchdown run, the score was 20-10.
The Panthers would bring out the dagger with a Dion Lewis 2 yard touchdown run, 27-10 the score, and that was how she finished.
Morgan Newton got the start after Mike Hartline was arrested and suspended. Newton went 21/36, passed for 211 yards, and failed to get any TD's.
Locke rushed for 71 yards, and Cobb rushed for 23, as he sets the SEC all-time all purpose yards record.
UK's season is over, they finish with a losing record of 6-7.
