As the Cincinnati Reds have officially made Veteran SS, Edgar Renteria, a member of the club, they have picked up a 30-year-old speedy OF, Fred Lewis.
Renteria signed a one-year deal and will make $2.1 Million, with an additional $900,000 in incentives based on plate appearances.
Fred Lewis, who was signed over Scott Podsednik, hit .262 with Toronto, he also hammered 8 homers, 36 RBI, and had 17 steals. Lewis could be a starter in the OF, while Renteria may not be. As of now, it looks like Paul Janish will remain as the starting SS.
Also, the Reds 40-man roster is now full, and Reds GM, Walt Jocketty said "I think I'm done".
