Travis Wood gave up two home runs in the 1st inning, and 5 total runs. He looked terrible. In the Reds half of the 1st, Jay Bruce went yard for his 3rd homer of the year. Jeremy Hermida would hit a home run in the 4th to make the score 7-4 Marlins. That remained the score until the 9th. Paul Janish hit an RBI double to plate Hernandez, the Reds were now only down by 2. Then, Drew Stubbs hit an RBI single to left to plate Janish, Reds only down by 1. Then, Jay Bruce came up to bat. Stubbs stole 2nd. The count was 2-2, and Jay Bruce struck out looking. The pitch looked outside to him, and me, and many Reds fans. But, not to Chad Fairchild, the home plate umpire.
So the Reds fall to 13-13, the Cardinals are tied in the 10th, if they lose, the Reds sit 1 game back, if they win, the Reds will be 2 back.
