Reliever, Russ Springer was put on the 15-day-DL with a strained left hip. Carlos Fisher was called up to Cincinnati to replace him. It was expected that Fisher would return, but there was a slim possibility that rookie Aroldis Chapman would make his MLB debut. But, that would not be the case as Carlos Fisher will come back to the Big Club for the 3rd time this season.
"There were a couple of guys that were throwing the ball well and deserving -- especially [Jared] Burton and Chapman," manager Dusty Baker said. "But we needed some length. That's the one thing we were still missing in the bullpen [after] we sent Fish down. We didn't have a guy that could go three innings comfortably and a guy that could save the bullpen for the next day, and the next day. That's what he gave us when he was here before."
However, for those of you that want to see Aroldis Chapman, Dusty Baker provides you with hope.
"We'll see Chapman soon enough," Baker said. "We want him to tear it up and get real comfortable."
