Reds rookie LHP, Travis Wood, who almost threw a perfect game AND no-hitter, has been sent down to AAA Louisville. Wood made 8 starts in the bigs, going 3-1 with a team-best 2.65 ERA.
This move was more than likely to make room for new Red, Jim Edmonds. I have no idea why they would do this, Travis Wood may be the best pitcher in not all of the Reds minor leagues, but may have been the Reds best pitcher.
Now the Reds will have to send down someone else so they can have another starting pitcher. It could be Bill Bray, Jordan Smith or Carlos Fisher, or someone not mentioned. The new starting pitcher could be Aroldis Chapman, by a long shot, Aaron Harang, or Homer Bailey.
This is the worst move the Reds have made this season.
