It was a split squad day for Cincinnati, so the team was randomly split up, both teams playing the Cubs.
Let's start with the 3:05 game where the Reds won 7-6, here are some notes from the game.
- Homer Bailey was the starter, and went 4 innings, gave up 6 hits, 1 run, walked 2, and fanned 5.
- Jeremy Hermida and Chris Heisey both hit home runs.
- Edgar Renteria hit an RBI single, and Jonny Gomes had an RBI double.
Now let's go to the 4:05 game that was played in Vegas. The Reds won 9-8 in walk-off fashion. Here are some notes.
- Mike Leake was the starting pitcher, and did not look so good. Leake pitched 4 innings, gave up 7 hits, and 4 runs. Not a very good game for Mike Leake.
- Dorn was the only Red to hit a home run.
- In the bottom of the 9th, the Reds had 1 out, then after 3 strait singles to load the bases, Kris Negron came to bat. Negron hit a single to center, Morasco and Griffen would score to make the score 9-8, and give the Reds the win.
Tomorrow the Reds will go back to Goodyear to play host to the Angels. Game time is 4:05 PM ET (don't forget about Daylight savings time) and there will be no TV.
