Bobcats Choke on Buckeyes

By:  Cooper Ledford

Jim Tressel's team was hosting the Ohio Bobcats, which the #2 Buckeyes have never lost to.  Their most recent win over OU was in 2008 in a close game.   This game was not close at all, as Ohio State beats Ohio 43-7.  Terrelle Pryor passed for 235 yards off of 22 completions, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions.  Pryor has now passed for 200+ yards in his last 4 games (vs. Oregon in Rose Bowl, vs. Marshall, vs. Miami, and now vs. Ohio).  Here is how it all happened.

On the 1st drive of the game for Ohio, Bates threw an interception to Moeller, that was the 2nd play of the game, and that was pretty much it, it was already over.  Ohio State got a field goal on that drive, a 32 yard kick by Barclay, 3-0 the score.  Then, still in the 1st quarter, Terrelle Pryor connected with Brandon Saine for a 9 yard touchdown pass, 10-0 the score with 05:53 to go.  Then, about 2 minutes later, Pryor ran for a 13 yard score, 17-0 the score at the end of the 1st quarter.

The 2nd quarter, like the 1st, was dominated by the team from Central Ohio.  Barclay started the 2nd quarter scoring with a 33 yard field goal, 20-0 the score.  Then, Pryor would resume the touchdown parade, as he found Jake Stoneburner for a 5 yard touchdown pass.  That was Stoneburner's first collegiate touchdown, and that was with 10:25 to go in the 2nd, 27-0 OSU on top.  Then, 2 minutes later, Dan "Boom" Herron rushed for a 2 yard score, 34-0 the score going into the half.

In the 3rd quarter, Ohio State forced a safety as Ohio's Vince Davidson was tackled in the endzone by Ohio State's Cameron Heyward, so 2 for the Bucks, 36-0 the score.  Then with under a minute to go in the 3rd, Boom got his 2nd touchdown of the game, this one for just 1 yard, 43-0 the score.

The Bobcats would make this a more respectable game in the 4th, when Boo Jackson found McCrae in the endzone, 43-7 the score, and that is how she finished.  Also, congratulations to Terrelle Pryor on setting a school record with 16 strait completions.

So, DeVier Posey and the Buckeyes beat his older brother Julian, and improve to 3-0 on the season.  OU is now 1-2.

Next, the Silver Bullets will welcome Eastern Michigan to the Horseshoe, that game will be Saturday at 3:30 PM ET, and will be televised on ABC.
