Evan Daniels of Scout.com confirmed that Anthony Davis Sr. says his son Anthony Jr. will commit to the University of Kentucky. Davis is 6'11 and 220 lbs. He is a power forward in the 2011 from Perspectives Charter in Chicago and plays for the AAU Meanstreets also in Chicago. Anthony really emerged as one of the top players in the 2011 recruiting class with his outstanding performances in games over the summer. Some recruiting analysts rank him #1 over Michael Gilchrist who also committed to Kentucky because of his emergence onto the scene of the high school basketball world. He was the topic of discussion the last two weeks from two defaming articles from the Chicago Sun-Times alleging that the University of Kentucky paid him $200,000 to commit to UK though the university and the Davis family strongly denied those allegations, threatening to take legal action vs the Newspaper for their slanderous articles. Davis gives UK 3 of the top 6 players in the 2011 class. UK holds commitments from Michael Gilchrist and Marquis Teague. UK is also recruiting two other top five players in this class, Austin Rivers, son of the Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers and brother of the Indiana Hoosiers PG Jeremiah Rivers.
